Unlimited Dial Up Accounts

A dial up account is a means to allow your PC to connect to the Internet via your telephone line, using a modem.

Your modem dials a number which will connect you to another computer, called a server, which will allow you to access the Internet. However, to actually use the server, you will need to identify your computer to the service. This is achieved by having a Username and Password which makes up your Dial Up Account.

uko2 uses a Dial Up number which is charged to you via your phone company at the local call rate. Our Dial Up number is 0844 711 0499.

When you sign up for an account, you will have the option to have your PC automatically configured to use uko2.

Unlimited POP3 Mailboxes

A POP3 Mailbox is the address of where your e-mail is stored before you dial up and collect it.

This will correspond to your e-mail address. Your uko2 e-mail address will look something like Joe@uko2.co.uk. You could also set up a POP3 mailbox address for each member of the family. How about Bloggs@uko2.co.uk?

Unlimited Email Aliases

An email alias is an additional email address attached to your POP3 mailbox. For instance, you could set up an alias to use for your hobbies or interests such as VeryMadJoe@uko2.co.uk. This would be associated with Joe@uko2.co.uk. Or ProfessorBloggs@uko2.co.uk could be an alias to Bloggs@uko2.co.uk.

50MB Web Space (Free)

Once you have your hostname or a domain name set up, you will need some webspace.

We will give you 50MB of FREE webspace for personal use.

If you have more advanced needs for webspace, we can supply this as well once you have an account with us.
